So far this pregnancy has really been a breeze. Sure, I’ve had the wonderful morning sickness, swollen ankles and hurting hips and SI joints, but all in all it’s been a blessing. I’ve continued to pray for specific things to include certain characteristics that I would love Levi to have between me and Kevin. I really have prayed he will have Kevin’s talent when it comes to music and writing as well as his boldness when standing up for beliefs, his gorgeous blue eyes and smile. For myself I’ve prayed he receives my compassion, sympathy, loyalty and discernment and of course my nose. 🙂 Some of you will laugh at that nose part.
I received an email from one of the maternity websites I’m on and there was an article about characteristics of your zodiac sign. Now I don’t believe in the whole horoscope thing but I do think it’s interesting when it comes to the time of the year you were born and growing up we always followed the “signs” when it came to planting certain things and when the calves would “drop” their young. So I research a little of what Levi’s sign would be and the characteristics of a Leo. Surprisingly enough, the characteristics of a Leo are the combination of who me and Kevin are today. So the following are characteristics of a Leo and even some of them I have already been praying for. See if you can pick me and Kevin’s characteristics that you know of us now out in the following description of Levi…as well as characteristics of our Jesus…
About the Leo Child
Warmth, loyalty, and generosity are just a few of your Leo child’s many shining characteristics. Leo children are enthusiastic and affectionate, and they experience life with the whole of their enormous hearts.
Sensitive, proud, and often just a wee bit vain, Leo children seem lionhearted on the outside, but they’re actually rather vulnerable emotionally. One harsh word can knock a Leo’s self-confidence right off balance, so you’ll have to be careful about how you talk to your Leo son or daughter, especially when it’s time for discipline.
Leo’s primary needs include attention and approval, and a Leo child will do what it takes to secure the appreciation of his parents, friends, and anyone else around. These little ones have a natural dramatic flair. Your child might treat you to impromptu performances from an early age, and you may notice him looking into the mirror often or dressing himself with a colorful sense of style.
Just as criticism can wound their souls, Leo children thrive on compliments and recognition of their accomplishments. And they’re likely to rack up accolades throughout childhood and into adulthood: Your little Leo could easily become the star performer in his school choir, drama group, soccer team, or any other venue that allows him to shine.
Be sure to reward your child for his many strengths, including his bone-deep sense of loyalty and morality. He may not realize that these internal gifts are even more important and admirable than his ability to impress others with his humor or good looks.
Just for wiggles and giggles here are some of me and Kevin’s descriptions:
Libra – The Scales (Kevin)
September 23 – October 22
As their zodiac signs and meanings would indicate, Libra’s are all about balance, justice, equanimity and stability. They easily surround themselves with harmony and beauty, but sometimes go to extremes to do so if their goals are unreasonable or unhealthy. With Venus as their ruling planet, Libra’s are very understanding, caring, and often the champion of underdogs. They have keen intuitions, but often don’t give themselves enough credit for their perceptions. They can be quiet and shy if not persuaded to come out of their shell. Ironically and in spite of their introverted nature they make excellent debaters, often proving a point from out of seemingly nowhere. You are charming, good looking, gentle and kind. You are a good judge of character and have many good friends. You do not like it when your decisions are challenged, and are impatient with people who criticize you. You hate people who are cruel to others. Libras enjoy the arts more than science, so a career in the arts would be a good choice. You will understand other people’s views and sympathize with them. A negative Libraian (there aren’t many) flirts and seems shallow. They also are impatient with a daily routine.
Capricorn – The Goat (Carrie)
December 22 – January 19
Capricorn’s are also philosophical signs and are highly intelligent too. They apply their knowledge to practical matters, and strive to maintain stability and order. They are good organizers, and they achieve their goals by purposeful, systematic means. They are very intuitive, although they don’t share this trait with others freely. They do not deal well with opposition or criticism but a healthy Capricorn will often shrug off negative comments towards their character. They are patient and persevering – they know they can accomplish any task as long as they follow a plan step-by-step. Capricorn’s have broad shoulders, and typically take on other’s problems with aplomb. Ironically, they rarely share their own problems and tend to go through bouts of inner gloom after a spell of dwelling on these problems. You are independent and (usually) confident. You have a tendency to criticize yourself too much, which can lead to low self-esteem. Capricorns are dependable, but also extremely cautious. You make a fair, but stubborn leader, and this is a job that you can do well. You are very well organized, so you can handle many projects at once. You may go through horrible mood swings, being friendly one moment and mean the next.
