What’s happening this weekend

This is what we are hoping to do this weekend. I can’t wait! If you want to come up and go with us you are more than welcome. It’s free!

95.5 the Wolf would like to announce a very special event happening at Fort Campbell Friday August 14th through Thursday August 20th. The event is called Week of the Eagles.

As the famous 101st Airborne Division of Soldiers (Air Assault) is returning home to their loved ones from completing their duties in the Middle East in the fight against the war on terrorism, the Army’s Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR), and 95.5 the Wolf are preparing for the greatest welcome home for our protectors of our freedom by celebrating the 2009 Week of the Eagles – Salute to the Troops Concert event.

Week of the Eagles is a biannual event that pays tribute to all Screaming Eagles who have served our nation since 1941. During Week of the Eagles, Soldiers, veterans and visitors will converge on Fort Campbell for this prestigious celebration. Week of the Eagles will give Fort Campbell a chance to show its capabilities, combat readiness and history for the past 68 years. What makes this year extra special is for the first time in 5 years, 80% of the Soldiers will be at home on Fort Campbell.

And on behalf of 95.5 the Wolf and the United States Army MWR, we would like to invite you to join us as we welcome Carrie Underwood, John Rich, Jake Owen, Rodney Atkins and more on Friday and Saturday August 14th and 15th!

Carrie Underwood is one of the most successful artists of the past 4 years. With #1 hit after hit, Carrie’s presence is sure to leave a memorable mark on the history of Week of the Eagles. She is a tremendous supporter of the troops, having performed a USO Tour in 2006.

John Rich is a true patriot who tirelessly travels to play for the troops and support our country. John playing underscores the patriotic theme and purpose for the event.

Rodney Atkins and Jake Owen are both supporters of the troops and will be amazing performers for this event.

These shows are open to everyone who can access the post at Fort Campbell, and we would like to encourage everyone to come help us Salute the Troops and thank our brave Soldiers of the 101st Airborne Division!

On behalf of 95.5 the Wolf, we hope to see you there and thank you for supporting the troops.
